• pH level: The pH level of pool and spa water should be between 7.2 and 7.8. If the pH level is too low, the water will be acidic and can cause irritation to the eyes and skin. If the pH level is too high, the water will be alkaline and can lead to scaling on the walls and floor of the pool or spa.
• Chlorine levels: Chlorine is a common disinfectant used in pools and spas to kill bacteria and other microorganisms. The recommended chlorine level for pool and spa water is between 1 and 3 parts per million (ppm). If the chlorine level is too low, the water may not be effectively sanitized, and if the chlorine level is too high, it can cause skin and eye irritation.

• Calcium hardness: Calcium hardness measures the water's ability to prevent scaling on the surfaces of the pool or spa. The recommended calcium hardness level for pool and spa water is between 200 and 400 parts per million (ppm). If the calcium hardness is too low, the water may be corrosive, and if the calcium hardness is too high, it can cause scaling on the surfaces of the pool or spa.
